Kerli is the winner of the Estonian version of American Idol, and I absolutely love her voice. Her music is different – slightly odd and dark but it fits her voice perfectly.

The video is slightly messed up… she dresses oddly. (understatement of the year)

Owl City, I think, I one of the most wonderful techno/electronic bands I’ve ever heard. This guy makes all his own music and it’s so imaginative.

I’ve never been a fan of Natalie Grant… I just don’t care for her voice, I guess. But this song always makes me cry. To put it in perspective, her friend, who lost her baby about two months after it was born, wrote this song about her grief and God holding her.

Honestly, in the video she looks ridiculous. I feel slightly bad saying that so bluntly, but it’s bothering me incredibly much considering the subject matter.

Still a good song, though.

I honestly don’t like this band. They were way better in concert, maybe because I couldn’t hear them very well, but it was still better. I was surprised when I saw their lead (dude with annoying scratchy voice) was playing the bass. Not something you see often.

Their Asian violinist was incredible, though. He kept rocking out with his violin onstage, it was great to watch XD

I absolutely adore the guitar in this… this song was quite helpful during depression. (Coincidence – lead singer’s name happens to be Matt? WEIRD…)

Matt has a wonderful voice for this, slightly apathetic but can be shyly sincere.

Learning How to Die:Jon Foreman

Jon Foreman (Switchfoot) has proved to be a brilliant acoustic folk artist. His voice is very melancholy, also his choice of instruments. He has released three EP’s, Spring and Summer, Fall, and Winter. They can be recognised by the signature drawing of a tree with it’s shadow- on different backgrounds.

This song has particularly hit me- the lyrics are so meaningful and true.
